KARBON TRAINING
PHILOSOPHY
Karbon Arms believes that you can have the best tool in the world but it will not serve you properly unless you know how to use it.  That is why Karbon Arms offers top notch training that is based on extensive research and field experience.  Karbon Arms offers certification classes in the use of all of our electronic immobilization products at the Operator, Instructor and Master Instructor levels.  Instructor and Master Instructor training seminars and annual review courses are conducted nationwide and training is specifically geared toward your product of choice. All programs are standardized with reciprocal documentation.

MPID TRAINING

Operator Training
6-8 hour comprehensive product overview and presentation. Program content includes Karbon MPID operation, classification, electronic theory, kinesiology, medical data, use of force issues, proper and improper applications, maintenance, and much more. This program includes a standardized presentation manual and the firing of 1 cartridge.

Annual recertification is required. Student applications for the Karbon MPID are voluntary and not mandated.
 
Instructor Training
16-hour interactive presentation spanning 2 days. The first day is the Basic User Program followed by a day of in-depth medical information, operational data and detailed documentation requirements necessary to conduct the Basic User Program. Program includes a Basic manual and an Instructor outline. Instructors are required to fire 2 cartridges for certification.  Applications are voluntary and not mandated.
 
Master MPID Instructor Training

The Master MPID Instructor program for the MPID is a 4 day program. This program certifies its students to teach Instructor Training.

 
Master Instructor: all products
5-day, 40-hour comprehensive presentation regarding instructor status in ALL of the Karbon Arms family of products: the ICE Shield™, the Band-It™ and the Karbon MPID™ Projectile Immobilization Device. Student applications for the Karbon Arms Master Instructor Program are not mandatory but suggested.

 
 
 
 
 

Band-It R-E-A-C-T PRISONER TRANSPORT & COURTROOM CONTROL SYSTEM

Karbon Arms offers an inmate and court defendant, safe and secure method of control for security and transport.  Adopted and specified by US Marshals Service and U.S.  Federal Bureau of Prisons, Divisions of the U.S. Dept of Justice,  the Band-It R-E-A-C-T system has been successfully used since 2000. Recognized by Federal, State and local courts, case law,  acknowledges concealed use in the presence of a jury. Two courses of certified training are:

 
BASIC USER PROGRAM – 6 hour presentation identifying uses, use of force, operations, maintenance, agency policies and procedures.
 
INSTRUCTOR TRAINING - 2-day program - complete outline, course plan, basics of product technology, uses, use of force, case law, legal information, operation and maintenance, documentation , policies & procedures and medical data included.
 
ICE Shield Training

Ice Shield Basic Training - 4 hour block of instruction for use of the "Ice" Shield including operation, maintenance, use of force issues and general information pertaining to the shield. Includes a basic certification/workbook manual.

 

Shield Instructor Training - additional 4 hours added on to the basic program. Includes support data, medical information, complete program outline and PowerPoint materials.

 

NOTE: Shield uses must be used pursuant to agency policies. During training for end-line users, allow adequate time to review and understand policies and complete handling of the shield.
